It looks like a nice tank though, I have to say. A bit expensive at $500...
Thats the best part of the deal, I committed to paying $500 by the end of the month for the pair of tanks I picked up last monday. Yesterday I sold one of the tanks for $600.
So I get to keep one of the tanks I just got and I made $100 profit Since I'm coming out a little ahead on my recent purchases it'll free up a few more options for my indoor tank build. Also since I wont need anything other than the tank and stand for inside it should be a pretty easy setup.
With 220 gallons of water in the garage tanks, when I get the new system online and running into them I'll have more than 50% of my total system already cycled and ready

Yay!
I got my LED lights in the mail yesterday. Nothing super fancy but they are 100% waterproof so they can be right at the waters edge inside of my tank and keep it looking nice and clean B)
I'll get pics up tonight when I get home.

All the stars are doing really well, I just lost the Irish Lord today though He got banged up by one of my large anemones about a week ago and never recovered.

Interesting how they can be so big in a small tank! But they probably don't move much.

Re: Oregon Coast Temperate Setups.
Only been on a couple collecting trips, once to Newport and once to Lincoln city. They majority of things I have sourced either from other coldwater hobbiests, online scientific supply companys, or local seafood markets.
There is a -1.7 tide coming in April that I will be going to Barview Jetty near Garibaldi and collecting. Hopefully I can find some good stuff.

Re: Oregon Coast Temperate Setups.
Thought I would give you guys a picture update of my tank, all the starfish and the gorgonians in here I have had since November of last year. Most of the anemones and the Corynactis I've had since July of last year.
Here's a couple pics of my orange Ochre Star eating snails from the market.
Picture to show you the size of the Bat Stars and Ochre Stars, I got big hands too.
My abalone with my finger in the shot for size reference.
My slowly growing strawberry fields
Gorgonians
Anemones

Re: Oregon Coast Temperate Setups.
Heres the most recent FTS I have, its tough to get a good pic of the whole tank because the garage lighting sucks and the tank is so dimly lit. I promise it'll be much cooler looking when I have two of them up and running side by side

Re: Oregon Coast Temperate Setups.
Stopped by a local seafood market and picked up 6 live spot prawns for $4.95 Got em drip acclimated and in the tank but they are all still getting used to the new surroundings.
I'll snap some pics of mine tomorrow, but in case you don't know what these are here is some images I pulled off of google.

Re: Oregon Coast Temperate Setups.
So now that I have both of my 110's up and running, I've decided to make one of them a NPS deepwater biotope and the other a tidal Oregon Coast biotope. There is a little bit of cross over in some of the inhabitants but not much. This'll give me a few more options on livestock and tank design.
They will still be used eventually as the powerplants for filtration and cooling on the indoor tank.
Oh yeah, and the monster display tank inside the house will still be the pylon idea

Re: Oregon Coast Temperate Setups.
So I was feeding tonight and I saw the Fringehead pop out and grab some food, he's alive still !!!
I finished up my 50w LED project tonight and used it to for lighting to get some shots of the tank.
